MANAGING BROKER'S LICENSE



Qualifications

To qualify for an Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker License in the State of Illinois you must have held an active Illinois Broker license for 2 years.

Complete Education Requirements

Managing Broker’s License requires a total of 45 hours of approved courses.

Education Course Information: Must complete and pass 45 hour Pre License course at a real estate school approved by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

The 45 Hours can be completed in one of 2 ways.

1. 30 Hour Online / Self Study Course, with the 15 Hour Interactive Course OR
2. 45 Hour Interactive Course

State Licensure Exam

The state licensure exam is administered by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). You must register with AMP.

  • Go to www.goamp.com
  • Click "Portal" tab
  • Select from left hand column “Illinois Student User”
  • Click "New Student Registration" to obtain your AMP student ID number.
  • To register for your exam:
  • Click on "Candidates".
  • Select the real estate examination you are prepared to complete.
  • You must first be registered as a student before you can take the state exam.

Apply For Your License

Apply for your license and pay the $125 initial license fee for the license to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation www.idfpr.com. In order to apply for your license you must be sponsored by a Managing Broker before you may practice.

Continuing Education Required For 2021 Managing Broker License Renewal

LICENSED before May 1, 2019 ... 12 Hours of Continuing Education (1 - 4 hour CORE A and 8 Hours Electives) AND 12 Hour Broker Management Course by 4/30/21.

LICENSED between May 1, 2019 to February 1, 2021 ... 12 Hours of Continuing Education (1 - 4 hour CORE A and 8 Hours Electives) by 4/30/21. No Broker Management Course is required.

LICENSED On or AFTER February 1, 2021 ... No additional Education is Required. Your next renewal date is April 30, 2023.
