Complete Education Requirements

Broker’s Licenses require a total of 120 hours of approved courses.

Education Course Information: Must complete and pass 90 hour Pre License course at a real estate school approved by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

The 90 Hours can be completed in one of 3 ways.

1. 75 Hour Online Course, with the 15 Hour Interactive Course
(It is recommend that you complete the 75 Hour Course prior to taking the 15 Hour course)
2. 45 Hour Online Course, with the 45 Hour Interactive Course
3. 90 Hour Interactive Course

State Licensure Exam

The state licensure exam is administered by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) You must register with AMP.

  • Go to
  • Click "Portal" tab
  • Select from left hand column “Illinois Student User”
  • Click "New Student Registration" to obtain your AMP student ID number.
  • To register for your exam:
  • Click on "Candidates".
  • Select the real estate examination you are prepared to complete.
  • You must first be registered as a student before you can take the state exam.

Apply For Your License

Apply for your license and pay the $125 initial license fee for the license to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation In order to apply for your license you must be sponsored by a Managing Broker before you may practice.

Complete The Required 30 Hour Post License Course

Broker licensees (prior to February 1, 2020) will need to take an additional 30 Hour Broker Post-License Course prior to the first renewal, April 30, 2020 through an approved pre-license school.
